BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Let everyone know that Chippewa Falls is “Open for Business”
We will work with public relations firm to develop a marketing plan that will help us to positively promote Chippewa Falls as a good place to do business. We will begin looking forward and defining the vision for Chippewa Falls and this Chamber for the next several years.
TOURISM
We will continue to aggressively recruit groups/organization to Chippewa Falls.
We brought in the NAIFC Ice Fishing Tournament, will be having 2
Softball Tournament this summer, and are expecting 800-1000 people in early July and 300-400 people in late July.
This is the 8th year the Chamber has supported Oktoberfest. This event has given $170K to charitable group in the Chippewa Valley. We will work with the fairgrounds and continue to support this valuable Chippewa Falls asset 2010

Our ambassadors host Ribbon Cutting/Ground Breaking ceremonies, coordinate and host monthly membership programs, coordinate our annual fall membership drive, and host our monthly New Business Welcome visits
CHIPPEWA FOUNDATION
We will provide staff services for the Foundation and the following related items:
Oktoberfest, Pure Water Days & Fairgrounds
CHIPPEWA VALLEY CHAMBER ALLIANCE
Coordinate the Chippewa Valley Rally, Airport Open House, Wage Survey
CHIPPEWA VALLEY YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
Partner with the Eau Claire Chamber to coordinate the Chippewa Valley
Young Professionals group
COMMUNICATION
Publication of the Annual Membership Directory
Improve communication to our members through the use of our website and Member E-News
Increase communication with non-members to educate them on the benefits of the organization

Increase communication with our community partners. Coordinate periodic
staff meetings, and Executive Committee meetings to improve efficiencies and
effectiveness. Insure the Chamber has adequate staffing and provide staff with necessary
training and cross training

Conduct our annual Leadership Development Program
Work with major employers to increase community involvement of their staff

PUBLIC AFFAIRS
We will continue to monitor issues and advocate positions that are beneficial to our
membership, identify and encourage members to seek elected positions, and explore ways to make meetings of elected bodies more feasible for business
people to attend.
2010 TOURISM BUSINESS PLAN GOAL:
To maximize visitor spending in our area during the off season
LEISURE TRAVELER
1. Provide a visitor information center that guides visitors to members businesses
and maximizes their expenditures in our community. Facility will be open 7 days
per week during peak season
2. Recruit and train 16 Visitors Center volunteers to provide visitors with up to date
tourism information. Conduct our annual appreciation banquet for this group.
3. Distribute Chamber business directories to all hotel rooms and “Chippewa Falls Has It All” brochures for visitors to use and to guide them to member businesses.
4. Provide our visitors with quality publications on the Chippewa Falls area to promote our community and members.
5. Expand our efforts to draw people to utilize our bike trail system.
6. Utilize our natural resources in the attraction of the leisure traveler.
7. Capitalize on the success of Oktoberfest in our leisure marketing efforts.
PROMOTION
1. Continue to purchase promotional space in key target areas. This will be focused on generating off-season visitors.
2. Monitor the success of our advertising purchases. Eliminate the weaker buys and explore new opportunities.
3. Distribute visitor information packets to all leads generated through phone, web site and other sources.
4. Develop relations with travel writers throughout the upper Midwest. Secure articles in various publications.
5. Promote positive image of the Chamber
a. Utilize print media at least 10 times per year
b. Send copy of newsletter with Oktoberfest schedule to prospective members
SPECIAL PROJECTS
Coordinate the 8th Annual Oktoberfest. Budget time & money for the event.
CONVENTIONS, SPORTING EVENTS AND MEETINGS
1. Focus on the recruitment of small to medium size meetings and conventions
(100 - 150 ) people to be held during the off-season (Oct.—Apr.)
2. Work to attract events to our sports facilities. i.e. Casper Field, Hockey Association, Northern Wisconsin Fairgrounds.
3. Monitor the economic impact of meetings and conventions.
CONTRACTS
1. Provide administrative services to the Chippewa County Tourism Council. Ensure that we provide them with a level of service that exceeds their expectations and will insure the renewal of this contract.
2. Work with the NWSFA to recruit events to the fairgrounds that draw visitors to our community. |
