Beef and Dairy Forage Seminar

The Chippewa County Extension office along with the Chippewa Valley Forage Council are hosting a Beef and Dairy Forage Seminar on March 21 at the Back 40 Dining and Cocktails near Bloomer from 11:30am to 3:00pm, with registration beginning at 11:15am. A lunch will be provided courtesy of Compeer Financial.

Speakers and topics include: Leonard Polzin, Extension Dairy Market and Policy Outreach Specialist, “Dairy Market Update”; Bill Halfman, Extension Beef Outreach Specialist, “Nutrition Considerations for the Beef Cow Herd”; Ryan Sterry, Regional Livestock Educator Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire Counties, “Transitioning to Beef: Considerations for Cattle Handling”; Les Danielson, Cadott Area Farmer, “Chippewa River Producer Led Watershed Grant Update”; Chelsea Russell, Midwest Forage Association Local Council Coordinator, “MFA and Forage Policy Update; and Jerry Clark, Regional Crops and Soils Educator Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire Counties, “Alfalfa Inter-seeding with Corn Silage.”
