Celebrating Our Valued Members

The Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) recently released reported findings from their nationwide public opinion poll on the impact of Chambers.

As we reviewed this information, we wanted to share the findings of this survey as it relates to adults and their thoughts on businesses who are members of their local Chamber of Commerce.

Key findings:

  • Three in five U.S. adults say that being active in the local chamber of commerce is an effective strategy for a business to demonstrate that it is reputable (61%), involved in their local community (60%) and uses good business practices (57%).
  • 47% of U.S. adults say that knowing a business is a member of their local chamber of commerce would make them view the   business more favorably (63% among those who are familiar with the chamber).
  • 50% of U.S. adults say that knowing a business is a member of their local chamber of commerce would make them more likely to purchase goods and services from the business (64% among those who are familiar with the chamber).
  • 48% of U.S. adults say that knowing a business is a member of their local chamber of commerce would make them more likely to recommend the business to someone else (63% among those who are familiar with the chamber).

**Additional insights can be found at acce.org/poll. Questions about the study may be directed to Jen Pruden (jpruden@acce.org), communications manager, resources and benchmarking, at ACCE.
