Project: 2023 Construction Projects
The Engineering Department is reviewing the 2023 projects for issues covered under the one year warranty. Contractors will be on-site in the coming weeks to make those corrections and any remaining punchlist work.
Project: Bryant Street (Eva St – Howard St) & Howard Street (Bryant St – Cliff St) Improvement Project
This project was recently awarded to Haas Sons, Inc. The project includes underground utility work (storm, sanitary, & water), curb and gutter, street surface and driveways. The contractor is anticipating beginning work on May 2nd starting with clearing and grubbing and roadway removals. Underground pipe is scheduled to begin on May 8th with the contractor starting on sanitary main in Howard Street. The contractor has 65 calendar days to complete the project. A construction start notice was sent to property owners on April 29th, 2024.
Project: Warren Street Improvement Project (Badger St – Palmer St)
This project was recently awarded to Haas Sons, Inc. The project includes underground utility work (storm, sanitary, & water), curb and gutter, street surface and driveways. The contractor is anticipating beginning work the week of mid June. The anticipated start date could be adjusted pending weather and contractor scheduling. The contractor has 100 calendar days to complete the project. Xcel Energy is scheduled to be on-site beginning mid May working on gas main and service replacements. A construction start notice will be sent to property owners approximately one week before street construction crews are scheduled to begin.
Project: Garden Street (West Terminus – Park Ave)
This project was recently awarded to Haas Sons, Inc. The project includes underground utility work (water, sanitary & storm sewer), curb and gutter, street surface and driveways. The contractor is anticipating beginning work mid July. The anticipated start date could be adjusted pending weather and contractor scheduling. The contractor will have 110 calendar days to complete the project after starting. Xcel Energy is currently on-site working on gas main and service replacements. Haas Sons, Inc is also on-site removing trees ahead of Xcel Energy. A letter will be sent to all residents at least one week before street construction crews are scheduled to begin.
Project: TDS Telecom Fiber Overbuild
TDS Telecom will be continuing to construct a fiber optic overbuild within the City of Chippewa Falls. The total project includes construction of over 90 miles of fiber optic cable. They have a dedicated team for answering construction questions.
