NORTHWESTERN BANK MATCHING GIFTS FOR NEW FENCING AT CHIPPEWA HUMANE ASSOCIATION

December 2, 2024 – Chippewa Humane Association is pleased to partner with the Northwestern Bank to raise funds for new fencing to allow for more dogs to be outside at the same time. For all donations received from Giving Tuesday through December 14th, Northwestern Bank will match donations dollar for dollar up to $5,000.

“This is something we’ve had on our wish list for quite some time, said Sam Wojcik, Manager.  The upgraded fencing will enhance our animals’ quality of life while they wait for their forever homes. We’re incredibly grateful to our supporters for helping make this possible."

“The Chippewa Humane Association cares deeply for their mission to provide excellent animal care and placement. The fencing will give these animals the opportunity to spend more time outside by providing multiple spaces for them to exercise and make it easier for the staff to manage the animals. We are happy to assist them in furthering their mission.” -  Jamie Leibrandt, Northwestern Bank Market President

Chippewa Humane Association is undertaking a project to divide their existing dog yard into four separate sections and raise the height of the fencing.   Currently, the fencing is too low and some stronger, larger dogs can jump the fence. Additionally, the new layout will allow for more dogs to be outside at the same time, each in their own designated space, promoting mental and physical health while reducing stress for both the animals and our staff. By extending the time our dogs can spend outside of their indoor kennels, we hope to give them more opportunities to run, play, and experience the joy of a larger, more engaging environment.  The new setup will also make it easier for staff to manage and supervise the dogs in a safe and organized manner.

The project is slated to begin in spring of 2025. The association needs to raise $30,000 and although they have set aside some funds and applied for grants it isn’t near what is needed to complete the project.  Donations can be made online at www.chippewahumane.com or mailed by check to PO Box 562, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.

The Chippewa Humane Association, seeks to relieve the suffering of homeless companion animals. By setting an example of excellence in animal care and placement, humane education, and community leadership, we can successfully emphasize their importance.
