Local nonprofit launches community green space garden

REACH Inc. located at 2205 Heimstead Rd, Eau Claire, WI hosted a Ribbon Cutting with the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce for their new community green space Thursday, August 8, 2024.

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of a new community green space to foster community engagement along with our members to enjoy. Our goal of $25,000 was reached by donations from local businesses along with hosting our 21st Annual Golf Outing with all funds raised going directly to this cause. To help fill the green space, many local greenhouses donated plants which will continue to fill the space for years to come”. Paula Gregory, REACH, Inc. Development Coordinator.

“We are excited to create a space with raised beds, paths wide enough for wheelchairs. It’s right along the Eau Claire transit bus line so people can access it that way as well and it’s just going to be a place for our members who come to REACH, Inc. to take care of, but also for the community to come in and enjoy and take care of as well”. It is accessible to those who may need a wheelchair or walker to navigate the great outdoors. It is a place to learn, relax and soak up nature. Best of all, it welcomes all people of our community”.
