Grants Available in Chippewa County

CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Community Foundation of Chippewa County distributes millions of dollars in grants to Chippewa County nonprofits and charities each year. According to the Community Foundation’s fiscal year 2022-2023 annual report, they granted nearly $1.4 million in grants and distributions that year. Competitive grant applications open on August 26 this year.

Nonprofits and charities serving Chippewa County’s people and resources can apply for annual, competitive grant funding through the Community Foundation’s website, www.yourlegacyforever.org

Community foundations are one of the fastest-growing forms of philanthropy in the United States. In essence, they are nonprofits that manage charitable funds and award grants to assist public programs and services.

“The generous amount of grantmaking is only possible because of those who open endowed funds and those who donate to an existing fund,” remarks Jill Herriges, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Chippewa County.

Two types of grant applications will be available on August 26 and are due on October 3, 2024: Community Needs Grants and Northwestern Bank School Mini-Grants.

Community Needs Grants are awarded to charitable organizations serving Chippewa County. Grant funding can support projects focused on arts and culture, community development, education, environment and animal welfare, and health and human services. Grants ranging between $500 to $6,500 will be awarded early in 2025.

Northwestern Bank School Mini-Grants are awarded to Chippewa County 3rd through 8th grade educators to fund innovative learning and motivational activities or service-learning projects for their students. Grants up to $350 will be awarded in late 2024.

To support grant seekers, the Community Foundation will host a 30-minute live webinar, "How to Prepare an Online Community Needs Grant Application," on August 27 and September 6, 2024, at 11:30 AM. Request to register at grants@yourlegacyforever.org.

The Community Foundation is the trusted steward of over 292 charitable funds and is nationally accredited. Endowed funds provide sustained, long-term charitable grants for Chippewa County’s people and resources. Through the Community Foundation’s grantmaking, they are recognized as a leader in addressing community needs and helping donors meet their charitable passions.
