Coffee & Commerce
This month's event was hosted by One of a Kind Interior Design & Lagom, downtown Chippewa Falls, and sponsored by Prevail Bank. We were thrilled to see some faces we haven't seen in awhile, hear how business is going, and learn more about Prevail Bank's services and community involvement. Many attendees had not been into One of a Kind and Lagom yet and we encourage you to stop by coming into the holiday season to find the perfect gift! Thank you to everyone who made Coffee & Commerce a wonderful event this month!
Business After Hours
Leinie Lodge hosted October Business After Hours and what a great turnout we had with over 100 attendees! Thank you to Leinie's for welcoming us into the Lodge, and to the co-sponsors, TDS Telecommunications and Market & Johnson for partnering to help host a member-favorite event. We welcomed many new members and of course, some great door prizes were won!
Heavy Metal Showcase
The Chamber partnered with 4 of our manufacturing members to host the first ever Heavy Metal Showcase! This open-house event for students and their families provided opportunities to learn about local job opportunities in our community and what each manufacturer creates. Thank you to the hosts, Cadrex, Wisconsin Metal Fab, Nordson EDI, and WS Darley for opening their doors for students and families to see what amazing things are created right here in Chippewa Falls.
Economic Perspective - Federal Reserve Town Hall
We welcomed President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Neel Kashkari, for a town hall event, Economic Perspective. Business leaders from the Chippewa Falls area gathered at the Heyde Center for the Arts to provide insight into their own challenges and opportunities. The Minneapolis Fed wanted to hear the concerns of local businesses in comparison to the current economy. Part of the program included a live interactive survey during which the audience answered a few questions. Inflation, housing, labor, and workforce were the most common answers when asked “What is the biggest challenge facing the Chippewa Valley economy?” Thank you to Jerry Jacobson, of Northwestern Bank for leading the discussion with Neel as Jerry sits on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
Leadership Chippewa Falls - Orientation Session
Our 2024-2025 Leadership program kicked off at Miron Construction, where participants learned about personality and leadership styles, heard from a panel of past participants, and discussed strengths and challenges of our community. This year's class welcomes professionals from diverse industries and positions, creating a cohort that looks forward to developing together to become better leaders in our community!
School2Skills - Manufacturing Session
We also kicked off School2Skills again, taking middle school students to local manufacturers to learn about what they do, skills needed, and career opportunities locally. This session on Manufacturing, took middle school students to the CVTC Manufacturing Education Center to learn about education opportunities available and how they set students up for success moving into a professional career. From there, students visited ITW Deltar Fasteners and the Chippewa Falls High School to learn about Technical Education Programs available.
