CVTC Leaders Receive Patriot Award

EAU CLAIRE – Three Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) leaders have received the Patriot Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense organization.

President Sunem Beaton-Garcia, Provost and VP Academic and Student Affairs Lynette Livingston, and Dean of Workforce and IT Jeff Sullivan, all of CVTC, were nominated for the award by Julie Sherman, Air Force Reservist and CVTC Director of Apprenticeship and STEM Initiatives. This honor highlights CVTC’s commitment to supporting those who serve.

The Patriot Award is given to individual supervisors who have shown outstanding support to their Guard and Reserve employees. This includes providing flexible schedules, time off before and after deployments, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence when needed.

Through their leadership, Beaton-Garcia, Livingston and Sullivan have fostered a culture of understanding, flexibility, and resource accessibility, ensuring that service members can successfully balance their military commitments with their professional responsibilities.
